Discovers 9 Queen Termites

A1 Pest Control Canberra Discovers 9 Queen Termites!

Today we sent the team out to Kambah for a termite inspection on a tree that was cut down last year and the stump had been decorated with gnomes.

We found the colony and in the royal chamber there were 9 Queen Termites. This will mean after the chase out we will be doing a barrier around the house to protect the home from the termites.

While the inspection was taking place the woman next door is also wanting a termite inspection. A lot of our days lately are on termites and advising courses of action to take.

1) there is only 1 Queen termite who’s main purpose is to lay up to approx 30,000 eggs per day! The other 8 we found today are to ensure the colony lives on should something happen to the Queen.

2) a Queen & King will only fly once and that is to find a place to start a new colony and then will shed their wings and never fly again.

3) a Queen termite can live up to 50 years of age in her lifetime lay 165 million eggs. The worker termites only live around a year but are easily replaced by the Queen.

4) worker termites are there to feed the Queen and find food sources for themselves.

5) The only way to successfully kill a termite colony is by killing the queen. She never leaves her chambers you have to find a way of getting to her.

Killing all the workers is not enough as she can quickly replace them.

Termite Treatments – Don’t Pay Too Much

As a business of course we will charge you for our services but there is a BIG difference to paying for one of our services and paying through the nose.

Only last week we called out to quote on a termite barrier and another pest company do a quote on bait stations before I tell you the cost I need for you to know the difference between the two treatments.

Bait stations is when the pest control manager places the barriers in the ground with wood in the barriers to attract the termites and then check the barriers every 12 weeks to see if there are any termites that have been attracted to the stations.

Termite Barriers are when we dig a trench and dig 200 mm out from the footings and 70mm wide x 100mm deep if there are concrete paths we drill holes 12mm holes 200 apart and then add Termidor.

This protects the whole property and we give 8 years 2 million assurance against termites coming back in that time which I think gives anyone peace of mind.

Back to my story, Bob attended a property in Ainslie a suburb of Canberra and found live termites in both the fence line and they had built mud tracks into the home eating away at a new bathroom and we prepared a report that had our plan of treating the termites and laying down the barrier.

The homeowner was given our quotation and he nearly fell over as our quote was $6,000 less than the quote for given for the bait stations! That is a huge difference in the cost, needless to say we got the job.

*It is in our opinion that bait stations that we have seen that are installed are rarely get checked leaving your property unprotected and giving you a false sense of security as you can see the bait stations, whereas the termite barriers is more cost effective using quality chemicals and giving the property owner 8 year 2 million dollar assurance gives the home owner peace of mind and is a more cost effective method in dealing with termites.

A1 Pest Control Canberra – Advanced Termite Inspections

A1 Pest Control Canberra is a family owned business that was founded by Jenny Jordan and Bob Waters in November 2011. Pest Control is in their veins as Jenny’s brother Bruce Gow has worked in the business for over 35 years!

Since the beginning Bob has used his background in customer service that has surpassed his client’s expectations with being able to book an appointment at the time the client wants but also has his staff deliver education on how to prevent insects and pest from returning to how to get the most out of your treatments.

Jenny and Bob started humbly and the staff were and still are family members “until recently due to the expansion of the company we ran out of family members” says Bob!
Luckily also Jenny Jordan has a marketing background and is the person how promotes the company.

Bob saw the need for more thorough Termite Inspection instead of using the usual visual methods of tapping and evidence of termite activity which really is not inclusive since access may not be possible due to weather conditions or the size of the entry area which would prevent inspection. Bob seeing the benefit of thermal imagining invested heavily in education and accreditation of Thermal Imaging.

Bob states that using the imaging technology gives him the edge over his competitors as it picks up not only body heat from the termites it also picks up moisture and maintenance problems for the home owner long before that it is seen by visual means. This saves the home owner thousands of dollars by treating areas before they become a problem.

With Bob’s attention to detail and a mass of satisfied repeat customers A1 pest control  Canberra continues to be in demand for residential, commercial and government contracts like DHA (Defence Force Housing) Schools, Construction, Real Estate agencies

A1 Pest Control Canberra uses only environmentally pet and family safe chemical treatments

Over these last 2 weeks we have been getting more call outs for termites and that is a good thing as no longer people are chancing it with a visual image and are insisting on thermal imagery for more accurate reports.

Let’s face it, the human eye can not see inside beams and posts and many times pest control managers can not get on top of the roof due to wet weather or hard to crawl in spaces and they write this on their reports. BUT tell me how do you know that the very spots that were not checked did not contain the termites you wanted to discover before they did damage.

You see with thermal image camera it also can pick up moisture which is a food source for the termite and this could save you as a intended buyer to see this as a plumbing problem before you sign on the dotted line.

Although Bob and his team do visual and thermal imagery inspections thermal is by far the more thorough of the 2:
– detects body heat of the termite
– movement
– moisture within walls and your roof.

Please call Bob 0407 065 413 for all your pest inspections.

Spring is the time that you may get possums in your roof they return to where the source is and use the space to shelter and raise their young.

While it may not cause too much trouble with just a few in the roof it may will cause you many sleepless nights when the whole family start fighting or mating.

Also with all of the building that is now happening in Canberra there are many times when builders seal the entry not knowing that there is a possum in the roof and its not too long that the possum die and the smell becomes unbearable.

We have had clients and this isn’t pleasant where maggots drop from the light fittings where the possum has died.

Only yesterday (Sunday) one of our team took a call from a home owner where it was a slight smell then the smell got increasingly worse as the body of the possum decayed.

We can also get this happening when people throw baits in the roof when they think that it will kill the rodent and it does but they can not escape and die.

1) Ring US 0407 065 413
2) The team will remove the dead possum/rat
3) Put an odour bag up that will absorb the smell NOT mask it.

Problem solved!

What I love about our pest control company in Canberra is that we are a family owned business that has customers that think enough of us that they write reviews to tell others of their pest control experience that they got from Bob and his team. One of the main things that stand us apart from our competitors is our customer service and how we spend the time to update and educate our customers.

We are an Australian company not sold out to overseas companies like some of our competitors that are playing on the fact that they use to be wholly Australian owned and now owned entirely by overseas companies – which is sad.

Services that we provide:

  • Termite Thermal imaging inspections – access or weather is never a problem
  • Termite barriers with $2million 8 year assurance policy
  • General pest treatment – both family and pet friendly
  • Possum removal
  • European Wasp removal
  • Dead rat removal – with odour bags that don’t mask the smell they absorb the odours
  • Bed Bug detection and removal
  • End of lease – we will even return the key to the agent!

We are there when you need us to be this may mean that you need us to not to disturb your day to day work routine so we will work outside normal 9-5 work hours which is ideal for our e-commence clients.

Customer service is the name of the game and many of our competitors will give a 4-5 hour window of when they will be there. A1 Pest Control Canberra will be there at an appointment time. Also another thing is that all staff has had Police checks.

I Hate to Mention it BUT..

I am purely bringing termites up for you to think about as not all pests come out in summer only termites are all year around. On a daily walk I spotted a tree that has fallen down in a school that tree has laid there a couple of years now and the kids play on it.

I noticed today that it is showing signs of termites who have moved in to make it their home.

If you throw timber under the house or had an add on and the builders have thrown it under your house you have provided the ideal environment for your termite guests.

You may not of thought about it much but left undisturbed the cost of a termite barrier is cheap against the home that needs major renovations done to replace supporting beams and timbers in your home.

If you are in the Curtin area and you saw 2 of our trucks there we were installing a termite barrier as the property had termites. Termites will then move to another home in the same street?

We have seen termites not go next door they may go 2 doors down or across the street one street on the Northside 5 homes were treated for termites.

Russian Roulette With Termites

With termites it is really unpredictable where they will show up next for instance your home may back onto a reserve and you have a few trees that are near the fence line that is on government land the termites maybe in the tree and you don’t even notice them there.

They may get bored and then move camp to your fence or garden borders without you even knowing and gradually make their way to your home all undetected.

When selling your home you will need to have a pest and termite inspection done and you call in A1 Pest Control Canberra who detect the termites and start the chase out first before placing the barriers in and here is where it gets interesting.

The termites are homeless they could go to your neighbours place next door or they can go 5 doors down there is no telling where they will turn up this is where the roulette comes into it.

There are 2 sorts of prospective buyers one is the one that will run to the hills with the mention of termites as they know that they hate the thought of sharing their homes with them OR there is the prospective buyer that will want to beat you down with the price your asking for your property.

Thermal image inspection shows up movement, body heat of termites and damp areas of your home that termites source out to live.

With a thermal image inspection there is no limitations unlike visual inspections where you can not get access to certain areas, or the weather does not permit you going onto a roof.

Book a termite inspection TODAY call Bob 0407 065 413

This thermal image shows the cool/damp areas in a wall ideal conditions for the termites that are detected.

Termite Winter Pest Control in Canberra

Great many people sigh a sigh of relief once summer is over and feel pest control can be put on the back burner but I can tell you pest control is big news and it is not only in summer but all throughout the year also.

Now that the wood is stored stacked up and ready to burn on the cold winters that Canberra has it’s a great time to start looking around your yard to look for tell tale signs that pests have been around. But a hint is that if you are seeing evidence it already spells bad news as that means that termites are active.

It never ceases to amaze Bob that termites when they do a chase out and now the termites are homeless they may go next door or look for a house across the street or 2 doors away to find a new home to unsuspecting property owners.

That huge tree you cut down from your yard that you thought was dying and let a stump remaining ding ding…that is the place that termites want to hand their hat. As the stump will now be open to water and it will start to decay the wood, guess what that is perfect food for termites to next.

Looking around at those ageing garden borders that are holding the garden together half covered over with soil and slowly rotting another perfect place for the termites.

Getting back to the woodpile that has been left outside or stacked up against the house to dry out ready and ready to burn. Take a closer look like the garden borders and trees we talked about here is the wood pile damp from the weather and been resting against the house you have now given any would be termites the red carpet treatment and said “please enter.” Only being funny but this can all happen within months of stacking wood.

Looking for mud tracks though from under or outside the house or leaky pipes that have been undetected now could show tracks leading inside the home.

The damage that termites can do can turn your biggest investment into your biggest nightmare in repair bills.
Its not uncommon to have termites do between $50k-$100K of damage all of this is not covered by your insurance. You can not afford NOT to have an annual termite inspection preferably have a thermal imaging inspection that can see more than the human eye, it can detect movement, heat and moisture.

Canberra Termites Control: Get rid of termites from your home

Canberra Termites Control

Canberra Termites Control

Canberra Termites Control. There is no doubt that the Australian vegetation is very diverse and dynamic. Everyday there are trees which die and at the same time new trees regenerate. Because of the many fallen trees and the dropped limbs, there are also shed barks and leaves which create a layer of litter in many woodland areas. Within this litter there is normally an amazing creature known as a termite. Termites feed on this cellular material and in the process convert it into soil. It has been established that there are around 2,500 different species of termites that exist around the world, and in Australia there are 350 species, but it is only 30 of them that are regarded as pests.

Termites normally have colonies which are well organized similar in so many ways to that of ordinary ants. In addition to having a king and a queen, they also have workers that take care of the feeding of the colony and soldiers that normally look after the protection of the colony. In most of our homes, we have kind of recreated the bush, and for this reason termites find a very perfect habitat in such places.

Canberra Termites Control At A1 Pest Control we have a team of expert who have specialized in termite detection and control. We normally identify a tree that is suspected to house the termites, drill into the trunk of the tree and place a temperature probe into the cavity to identify the location of the nest. This method is effective since the royal chamber, where the queen resides surrounded by the nursery, normally has a constant temperature of about 34 degrees C with high humidity. The tree that are mostly affected by termite damage are the almond trees and gum trees because they live for a very long time and as a result accumulate a lot of dead wood and barks as they are growing.

Canberra Termites ControlIn order to eradicate the termite nest, we normally use a controlling agent that is pumped into the nest and the hole sealed. We then lay a number of termite traps on your property in case there is still suspicion of the presence of termite activity in the area.We will then inspect these traps regularly so as to see if there is any termite activity. If we detect the presence of termites, we will use a large bait box that we normally install so as to concentrate the termite numbers. We normally put cells of wood in the bait box that put in place for about eight weeks, after which the entire colony is treated with a range of contact insecticides.

Get Canberra Termites Control at A1 Pest Control Canberra.

Even though you may be vigilant and also have put in place termite detection mechanisms, these destructive pests are still able to enter your home. One of the most visible indications may be slight discoloration of the surface of a wall, which is likely followed by warping in case it is wood paneling that is used for the wall lining.

Since termites are tropical insects, they normally create their own high humidity wherever they live. The damage caused by termites can be very huge and this is the reason why you should ensure they do not get a home in your property. Professional help is the best solution to termite problems since getting rid of them can be a very difficult process. In case you suspect you have a pest problem in your home, contact A1 Pest Control for Canberra Termites Control and we will act immediately.

How to get rid of Termites

How to get rid of TermitesIf not gotten rid of at an early stage, termites can cause a lot of damage to woodwork as well as the furnishings in your home. Research has shown that in some countries a loss of up to 10% the cost of buildings may be caused by termite destruction. For this reason as a homeowner you need to prevent termites from invading your property and in case they have already invaded your home, you will need to get rid of them in the most effective method.

So how can you identify presence of termites in your home or property? In case you suspect there is presence of termites in your home, there are a number of methods you can use to detect them.

  • Use of well-trained sniffer dogs to locate the existence of termites.
  • Using a special gas detector to detect the gas expelled by termites of a specific composition.
  • Using special instruments to listen for the distinct sound of termites that are feeding on your home.

The best methods such as the ones above however require specialized equipment’s and for this reason you will need the assistance of pest control experts. At A1 Pest Control we use the methods that will be most effective in your home. There are a number of natural measures that can be used to cut the existence of termites in your home. These are also affordable measures and they can be performed by anyone since they require minimal or no expertise. Some of these treatments are:

Getting rid of all the stumps, roots and other debris that may attract termites from your home. This is especially very effective when getting rid of subterranean termites. Getting rid of these materials will interfere with the normal functions of the termites since they will have nothing to feed on. The materials that have been removed should also be destroyed so as to completely get rid of the termites that may still be there.

Another thing you may consider doing is deep digging. This can make it possible to destroy the termite colonies that may be in the underground. You will also need to destroy any wooden mulch that may be in your compound. This is because mulch is normally infested with termites within a very short time especially in termite prone areas. Therefore the only way of getting rid of such termites is to destroy them. It is also recommended that you avoid using any other type of wooden mulch if you cannot obtain cedar mulch. If you have identified a region in your compound infested with termites you can also flood that region so as to get rid of them. This can be one of the most effective methods of killing the termites because the flooding will drown them.

Other ways of getting rid of termites includes use of bio-blast. This methods involves using a fungus to infects and kill those with fungal spores. It is however very important to note that use of chemicals to get rid of termites should be undertaken with extra care. This is why it is best to contact a pest control expert. At A1 Pest Control we have a team of experts who are always ready to help our clients. Call us today and we will come to your rescue.

Get Rid of Termites

Get TermitesIf you are from Australia you must be aware that the Australian bush is a very dynamic. Every day there are trees that die and there are new ones that regenerate. In addition to these fallen trees and dropped limbs, a number of places are filled with shed barks and leaves which end up creating a layer of litter on the woodland floor. All this litter is attracts a common pest in Australia, the termite, which feeds on this cellular material. This has also led to these termites invading Australian homes and destroying property worth a lot. Some of the gardens in our homes have recreated the bush, and this makes a perfect termite habitat. Since the damage caused by termites can be tremendous, it is very necessary to protect your home from these destructive pests.

A pest control expert that you would need to contact is one who specialise in termite detection and control. What is surprising about these pests is the fact that a king and queen are able to live for around 70 years and the colony is able to be well established even before it is detected. One way that may be used to eradicate an unwanted nest of termites is by pumping a controlling agent into the nest and sealing the hole. It can also be a good idea to have a pest control expert lay termite traps on your property if by any chance you suspect there is termite activity in the area. These are inspected regularly for any activity, and as soon as termites are detected a large bait box is installed to concentrate the termite numbers. the contents of the bait box contains can be cells of wood, and this can be kept in place for up to eight weeks, after which the whole colony may be treated with a range of contact insecticides. This should be carried out only by an authorised pest controller. Even though you may be very vigilant in termite detection in the garden, it is still possible for them to enter your house. The first and easiest indicator to spot may be some slight discolouration of the surface of a wall, mostly followed by warping in case the wood panelling is used to line the wall.

There is a specials meter that can be used to show if there is high moisture content behind the wall. If that is the case, this is enough indication that there is termite activity in that location. Since termites are tropical insects, they normally create their own high humidity in the places they live. There is a simple way of monitoring whether you have termites in your home. This is done by burying toilet rolls in the ground in various places in the garden. Each one is marked and since they are made from good cellulose material which is highly absorbent, they are attractive to termites. You will need to dig them up from time to time, and if there are termites then you may have cause for concern. There is no denying that termites are a great natural part of the Australian landscape, but they become problematic when they are in close proximity to your house. It is however rash to get treatment for a problem before it exists. The first step should be setting up the baits so as to establish whether there are termites in the vicinity. The expert is the one who need to properly identify them and establish a control program.

At A1 Pest Control we have well trained experts who are always quick to respond to termite problems. The best solution for your termite problem would be to call us today and we will act as soon as possible.

Best way to Get Rid of Termites

termitesEven though buying a home is normally one of the biggest investments to most people, the worst thing about it is that it could be going on right now without your even knowing it. It can even be possible that it has been going on for a number of years right under your feet. This is because termites can be very sneaky.Termites have been known to be the silent killer of countless houses all over the world. One thing that makes a termite infestation scary is the fact that it can sometimes take up to five years before the termite damage is even noticeable. Generally, the most visible sign of a termite damage are the holes in wood and/or sagging floors.

When the damage gets to this point, the cost in terms of damage will start accumulating very fast. You may be lucky if you were clever enough to perform termite inspections or if you realized early enough that were maybe just lucky enough to realize what was going on before that sort of serious damage had been inflicted. But whatever the extent of your termite problem, this article can help you.

The first and most important thing you need to do to control termites is to look for evidence of their presence. Even though the termite damage can be a bit difficult to find, looking in the right places can give you an idea of any termite infestation in your property. You can try tapping on floor beams, support beams, pillars, wall boards, etc. In case it is wooden, you need to tap it, and in case you find a hole in the wood, try sticking something like the tip of the screwdriver in it. If the screw driver easily goes in, you could very well have a termite problem. You can also try looking for mud tubes, termite droppings, and insect wings. Termite problems always require fast action and it is advisable that if you can’t tell whether or not you have termites, you need to get an inspector in there.

This is the reason why a very simple phone call could really save you a lot of money. In case you are very sure you have termites, avoid wasting any time. Even though it is easily possible to get rid of termites from your home, a very important step in termite control is to make sure they can’t re-invade your home once you’ve gotten rid of them to begin with. The first step would be to make their food unavailable. Termites eat wood and if you can get rid of any wood debris out in the yard, or random logs laying around, you can be on your way to getting rid of them.

Since the best way of getting rid of termites from your property once and for all is by the help of pest control professionals, you should contact them as soon as you suspect you have termites. At A1 Pest control, we have a dedicated team of well-trained experts who are always ready to come to your rescue. We will come and inspect your entire home for these destructive pests and if they are there, we will use the best method that will not be harmful to your family and to your pets to eliminate them completely. Contact us today and we will get to you as soon as possible.

Termite Removal

Termite Removal for Suburban Australian Homes

Termite RemovalTermites are tiny, but will cause a great deal of damage in a short amount of time that will cost you a great deal of money, if not treated and removed by a trained professional.  Get the best advice on termite removal from the experts who have various options that they can offer to discuss with you to ensure you have all of the options.

What’s involved in termite removal?

There are several techniques available to remove a termite invasion in your home.  First of all the type (species) of termite needs to be identified and their central location and the depth of the invasion will determine the technique best fitted for your particular situation.  Termites are tiny and are rarely seen with the naked eye, as they dine on wood from the inside out.

Subterranean termites

Subterranean termites are usually the species that get into your home via a tunnel that they built under the earth.  They travel (through these homemade tunnels) from your home to theirs (known as colonies).  Colonies are located away from your home, so a complete removal  requires more than a lethal spray in a central location.  A termite inspection will also make it a priority to find and kill the colony of it.

How is this accomplished?

Bait boxes are used to attract the termites and then dusting the area with a product that will not kill it immediately – it is designed so that the termites will bring the poison back to colony.

This technique has been proven to be highly effective, because of the grooming habits of termites, and the fact that when the termites that are initially infected begin to die, the remaining termites eat them, and in turn digest the poison themselves.

In conjunction with this strategy, a barrier of chemicals is placed in the soil surrounding your home.  This chemical is not detected by termites, so instead of avoiding it, they walk through the poison and once again carry it back to their colony.

Can termite removal be done by the home owner?

IMAG0188-1024x61336It is not recommended that you undertake this task on your own, termite removal should always be done by a trained professional.  Not only are termites a challenge to be located, but some of the chemicals used by pest controllers can only be used by a pest controller that is properly licensed in the field and also carries termite inspection tools.

Here are 5 good reasons why you may want to deal with our firm:

  1. You will receive knowledgeable and friendly information about your situation or pest management problem
  2. No pushy sales person will force you to purchase a treatment you don’t need or don’t want.

Termite Expert

Termite ExpertAre you confident that the Pest Control “Expert” is really an expert in the field of termite control?

A responsible homeowner will have their home inspected for termites periodically and on average one in every three homeowners will have to call a professional to deal with an infestation of termites in their home.

Don’t be fooled in believing that every pest controller is a trained termite control expert, and you want to make sure because these  pests can cost you thousands of dollars of damage if not dealt with properly.

Invest the few minutes that it will take to confirm that you are working with a specialist that is qualified to deal with termite control.  You might be asking, what is the difference between a pest controller and a termite expert.

In Canberra and NSW, a licensed pest controller only just has to complete an entry level course – this course does not qualify the student to be a specialist.  They will be trained to control ants, spiders, cockroaches, but will not be able to perform termite inspections and termite treatment.

A second course, “Termite and Timber Pest Management”  (PRM40209 Certificate IV in Asset Maintenance) will be required to provide the knowledge that the technician will required to have in order to deal with termites.  Keep in mind that nothing replaces experience and quality of work for someone to become an expert that you can trust.

To achieve accreditation at the Certificate IV level, the candidate must be able to demonstrate a competency in all of the 15 core units, plus the 7 extra elective units (which is a total of 22 units).  It is sad that some pest control firms do not enforce at their technicians have these professional credits.

The most modern and up-to-date termite detection equipment (such as thermal imaging cameras) can be costly and some firms will not invest in the latest technology to give you the best service and results possible.

Since termites are discreet and difficult to view, the best equipment is necessary to scan the walls in your home for termite activity.  Does expensive equipment make for a qualified termite expert?  Not necessarily.  Experience and diligence must also be considered when hiring your termite expert.

A few questions will help you choose a termite specialist in Canberra and surrounding areas:

  1.  Ask the pest controller of their schooling and qualifications, and if they have Certificate IV in Pest Management
  2. Inquire about the type of equipment that will be used to search for termite activity in and around your home.  Some of the most modern equipment today will involve a Termatrac microwave device and equipment specializing in moisture detection.
  3. Also, ask your potential expert where and how they seek out termites and their colonies.  This will give you a sense of how thorough, diligent and professional they are.

Termite Infestation

Termite Infestation

Termite InfestationThe problem with termite infestation is that it does not become apparent to the home owner, until some real potential structural damage has occurred. Termites do not leave any calling cards; they are quite discreet in their destruction.

It is extremely difficult to look for any potential evidence of termite infestation, since they eat the wood from the inside out, and choose as their locations obscure and dark places, Because of this, the best way to determine if you have an ongoing infestation is to call a termite professional, who will conduct a thorough and complete inspection.

Signs of  termite Infestation :

There are however one or more signs that an astute observer might notice making that professional termite inspection an extremely good idea. Some of these signs are bowed or sagging wood, wood that depresses with any type of pressure on it, check for mud tunnels – underground termites build little mud tunnels up and into the house, so it is best to check the exterior of your home for possible entry. In addition, any stains on timber that look like water damage could also be evidence, since where there is moisture  termites are not far behind. Evidence can be found anywhere around or in your home, whether it is wood in the garden, a wooden fence or a pile of fire wood everything and anything made of wood is vulnerable.

One thing to remember though is that since most of the evidence of termite infestation is out of your view, it is very important to have regular termite inspections carried out by a professional in any area of Australia, since there is a nationwide termite problem.

There are numerous species of termites in Australia, but you will be happy to know that they are not all interested in your home. If you do have a termite problem, the subterranean termites are the probable culprits, with large colonies near your home that can travel underground for their food source.

Queensland and West Indian Drywood termites have been inadvertently exposed to suburban areas, causing great damage, whereas Australian Drywood and Dampwood termites are rarely seen, since they do not travel underground and setup smaller colonies inside the wood that they are eating.

The advancements in termite detection, thermal imaging, moisture detection and termite radar, are some of the latest innovations, the termite expert uses to check for infestation.

If not caught early enough, termite infestation can be extremely costly and be the ruination of your home.
